This coin depicts an emblem of the12th World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow. In Russian it says: “За антиимпериалистическую солидарность, мир и дружбу" - "For Anti-Imperialist Solidarity, Peace and Friendship" (reverse). What a Russian souvenir!

Commemorative coins were released in the USSR between 1965 and 1991. Most of them were made of copper-nickel alloy. Diameter: 31 mm. Edge stamped «Один Рубль» - one ruble. Saint Petersburg Mint of Goznak (State Insignia), St. Petersburg, Russia.
