This Russian souvenir brooch/pin was hand-crafted from wood. It was then hand-painted with a small and simple floral design. Just before the last step of glossing, the artist quickly bordered the scalloped edge with gold. This, along with blooming flowers, is common among Zhostovo crafts. The backside of each pin actually has a safety pin, which allows this beautiful and fun accessory to fasten securely to anything.
