Large Egg of St. George the Victorious

This religious wooden egg was made by hand in Sergiev Posad, Russia. It features a great depiction of St. George the Victorious, aka Holy Great Martyr George the Trophy-Bearer, Victory-bearer and Wonderworker George, St George the Victory Bearer. Here St George the Victory Bearer, depicted as a horseman slaying the serpent. Great Martyr George intercede with Christ our God for our souls salvation. Saint George is a patron saint of Moscow and appears on Moscow’s coat of arms. The handwritten note on the bottom of the egg says: St. George the Victorious, Sergiev Posad, and Artist's initials.
