This small cameo pendant is an example of both elegance and refinement. In order to create the detailed image this amber stone has been hand carved on the back side. This creates a vivid impression of a female's portrait on the front, especially when light shines through the amber stone.The detail work in the carving of the amber is called "intaglio" which is a negative or reverse image-making carving technique used in gemstone jewelry. The oval-shaped amber stone is set in a sterling silver frame. Length of entire pendant is about 1 1/4" and it is 5/8" wide.
