This Vintage Tea Glass Holder (circa 1950) Represents the monument in Kiev, Ukraine, which was raised in 1888. Bogdan Khmelnitsky was a historical leader of proletarian revolution in 17th century, who freed Ukraine from Polish occupation. It is an Old Russian tradition, drinking tea from a
glass with a tea glass holder "Podstakannik". The metal absorbs the heat of the boiling water so the glass never breaks and the tea is kept warm.
