Russian Vases
The Russian Store is pleased to have interesting and beautiful vases for your home... These vases were all made specifically for The Russian Store by very skilled artisans in Russia. Our Khokhloma vases stand 14" tall and feature the traditional berries and leaves design. For a more modern feel, we carry impressive Fantasy vases, a series of one-of-a-kind illuminating art glass vases that turn orange from tan under a strong light. Whichever vase you choose you are sure to be pleased with a unique hand-crafted piece of art.
It will look great on just about any shelf, with or without flowers. These Russian vases also make exceptional house warming gifts! And remember, Russian vases aren’t always about the flowers in them, they are also regarded as art pieces. They can liven up a room without making it look too cluttered and make great conversational pieces in a hall. They really belong in offices or environments of a formal nature too. One needn’t bother changing the flowers each day, not with a great collection with a subtle scent wafting through the room.
Each one of our Russian vases has a historical significance attached to it which makes it appropriate for an antique collection too. We believe that these vases will only get more precious with time. Look at the Antique German Vase for instance; it was handmade with great detail back in 18th century. This magnificent work is certainly one of a kind and was hand thrown by a German craftsman which we learn from the stamp at its base. He threw the pot on the wheel and fired it in the kiln to make it permanent. He then applied some extra clay on the pot which he carved out in detail to create the picturesque scene of two birds perched comfortably on a tree in pleasant surroundings and painted it. After painting the scenery in a color scheme, he fired the piece again in the kiln to achieve the final piece in its totality. The result is available for us to touch and admire even after all these years!
Another fine porcelain piece we suggest adding to your antique collection is the Antique Bohemian Vase. This exquisite piece was created in the early to mid 20th century and its artist or exact origins are unknown to us for the lack of any kind of insignia. Bohemians for their unorthodox tastes have often been termed as the wanderers, adventurers or the vagabonds and have always aroused intrigue with their art. Notice the delicate floral pattern on the body of the vase which lends it a touch of royalty and the figure of the nude young lady only accentuates the beauty of the entire piece. Team it with a bohemian table at the centre of a room to lend it a grand finish. This bohemian vase is a testimony of good taste and again, it certainly doesn’t need flowers to complete its beauty.
